This meta tag debate has been going on for a ages now. If meta tags do help, they certainly don't help as much as some of the other tags like title and heading tag. Good post.

Hmm...they wanted traffic for traffic's sake? Perhaps they had impression ads on their sites, so any traffic was good for them. Just a thought.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for writing. You'll log into WordPress and then make changes right in the WordPress sytem. It's user friendly you can "make" HTML by clicking on buttons to bold, to add a link or to make italics.

You should not need to use FTP if you're only going to be writing. All of your writing can be entered in through the user interface, which looks a lot like a Word document.

Good luck with your site!

I use to run a website with macwebsitebuilder.com, where I would just login online into my template, enter and edit text...very simple and easy to use and produced a nice looking website.
I felt the need for a more professional looking site with more flexibility for editing content rather than just in the simple block areas of my current template. I have a web design firm finishing up on the site, and they are uploading for me to my new host, Verio, and setting it up for me to edit the sites content using Wordpress.

Now while I know some basic html, I am confused as to how this will work to maintain the site. Do I edit the pages on my computer using the Wordpress program and then upload the page to my host Verio?
Do I login, see my pages and edit content and click save somewhere?
I keep reading places on how easy Wordpress is to use, however for someone with very little experience in now using an ftp for my website, I am confused as to how I edit and maintain my site now with Wordpress.
Thanks for any insight.

Thanks. I agree about MySpace. I love Facebook because I found fellow writers, aha, people like me. The first thing I did on Facebook was post my pix on the person's page who had invited me and then didn't have a clue for how remove it. I've also been puzzled by all those Karma, blahblah things..as in Yikes, what do I do now, so thanks for the tips.
